Microsoft FrontPage Extensions

With the evolution of the Internet community and with the creation of the e-commerce scene, the need for a personal website became even bigger. And while not everyone can afford to hire a professional website designer, almost everyone uses Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office. And together with Windows and Office, a friendly tool came along - Microsoft FrontPage.

NTC Hosting provides full compatibility with the latest version (compatible with Linux) of Microsoft FrontPage Extensions. All our plans are FrontPage hosting optimized, which allows you to set up a connection between your Microsoft FrontPage and your web hosting account.

FrontPage Extensions

Microsoft FrontPage is a part of the Microsoft Office package and is used for the creation and management of websites. This program automatically generates HTML code, which makes it especially convenient for users who have little or no HTML knowledge. Many people think that using FrontPage Extensions is much easier in comparison with other website-building programs, and that this is the reason why it is being widely used. Besides, unlike the case with other programs, the administration of a website is easy, offering good organization and presentation of the working files. FrontPage also contains helping programs (wizards), which offer many templates.

FrontPage History

FrontPage was originally created in 1996 as a part of the Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Server package, with the intent to help webmasters easily create content and functionality-rich websites. Since then, due to the popularity it gathered, it was included in the future versions of Microsoft Office.

In 1998, in an effort to make FrontPage available for a larger group of users, Microsoft released a Mac version of the FrontPage site builder. However, this version never received any of the future updates.

In 2003, support for Dreamweaver templates was added, dubbed as "Dynamic Web Templates". Flash support was also added, allowing for more dynamic and better looking websites to be created with FrontPage.
