How to check your Traffic Usage and Traffic Stats

How to check the Traffic Usage and Traffic Stats for your web hosting account

Checking the traffic usage for your web hosting account is necessary for keeping your sites online all the time.

1. First you will need to log into your Control Panel. You can do that by clicking the Control Panel log-in link located in the upper right corner of the screen. Next enter your login details in the username and password fields of the Members Area Login form. Press the Login button to go straight to your Control Panel.

2. Next you'll see how to navigate to the Account Usage section of your Control Panel to check your traffic stats. Once you log into your Control Panel, look at the Account Usage table located in the left-hand sidebar. It allows you to keep track of the usage of all your account resources. To check your current traffic usage level, look at the Storage MB row of the table. There you will see how many MegaBytes of traffic you have used and how many you have left.

3. You can get more detailed information on the traffic usage levels from the Traffic Stats section. Once you log into your Traffic Stats, you will see a table listing all hosts in your account. To the right of each host you will see a Stats icon, indicating whether traffic statistics are generated for a certain host or not. Click on the Stats icon next to a host you wish to check traffic usage for to view in detail the traffic it has generated so far.

3.1. You can review the monthly traffic stats for the selected domain, using the information given by the graphs table and the summary table. The graphs will give you a visual idea of the visited pages, the opened files and the hits made on your site. The summary table will give you details (both daily average and monthly total) about the hits, files, pages and visits realized on your site within a month's period.

3.2. Next click on the month link in the Summary table, if you wish to get further details about the traffic usage of your particular domain. Here you will see all your domain name's traffic statistics broken down to the smallest detail. The information is presented via both tables and graph schemes for better visualization results.

3.3. You can get daily and hourly stats as well. The daily traffic statistics will help you see which is the busiest or the less busy period for your particular domain, for example. The hourly traffic stats will help you check in which periods of the day the users are most active on your web pages.

3.4. The traffic stats can also show you which are the most often visited pages on your website. They will be ranked according to the number of hits they receive and the percentage of generated traffic usage.

3.5. Another Traffic stats option is to check which are the IPs that have generated most visits to your website. You will be able to see the exact IP address of the host where most of your site visitors come from.

3.6. You will be also able to check which sites refer visits to your site and also which are the user agents, such as search engine bots, that crawl your site.

3.7. A very important traffic stats option is to check which exact countries your traffic is generated from.

Now you know how to monitor the Traffic Usage and Traffic Stats for your web hosting account.
