How to add a custom A record to a domain or subdomain

How to add a custom DNS Host (A record) to a domain/subdomain - overview

1. First, you need to log into your personal web hosting Control Panel. To do that, go to the Members Area log-in in the upper right corner of the NTC hosting's web site. Next you need to fill in your account log-in details such as username and password in the Members Area login form and to hit the 'login' button.

2. Once in the Control Panel, you need to go to Custom DNS Records located in the Site Management section, by clicking the corresponding Custom DNS Records icon.

3. Now it's time to get to the final and most important step, adding an A record to your domain name.

3.1. First you need to select a hostname that you wish to add an A record to from the Hostname drop-down menu.

3.2. Then select the Custom A record type from the Type drop-down menu and input the value of the IP address that you wish to point your domain or subdomain to.

3.3. Next edit the default TTL value, if necessary.

3.4. As soon as you have made the necessary A record changes - click the 'Add New' button to apply them. The new A record value has been successfully added to your host.

To see the new A record you have just updated - scroll down the screen to the Hostname list, look at the fields right next to the name of the host you have just set an A record for and you will see listed the IP address, the priority level, the TTL value, as well as the options to Change the existing settings, if necessary.

You have successfully added a custom A record to your host.
